MIRI – Three more ventilator machines have been delivered to Sibu Hospital in central Sarawak to assist critical Covid-19 patients in isolation wards.

Sibu Disaster Management Committee coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee handed over the machines to the hospital management late yesterday.

In a social media update today, he said the three high-end ventilators have been brought in by the state government.

Dr Annuar, who is also state Housing and Public Health assistant minister, said there are a lot of critical patients in Sibu hospital who need help.

Sibu, a red zone, is the worst-hit district in Sarawak.

Out of the 69 Covid-19 deaths in the state so far, Sibu recorded 41. The district also recorded 3,850 cases as of yesterday. – The Vibes, February 20, 2021
