PRIME MINISTER and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called on the party's Sabah chapter to close ranks and strengthen its election machinery ahead of the next general election.

Anwar also urged the party to mobilise its entire membership, strengthen unity and embrace support from all segments of society to ensure PKR remained closely connected to the aspirations of the people.

"At the same time, preparations for the machinery to face the coming General Election must be strengthened from now with clear unity and determination," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday night.

He said PKR Sabah would continue to serve as a force for carrying the people's voice and advancing the country's reform agenda.

Earlier, Anwar held a brief meeting with the PKR Sabah State Leadership Council (MPN) in Kota Kinabalu to exchange views and discuss current issues, particularly matters concerning the interests and well-being of Sabahans. - September 11, 2026
