MIRI – Divers from the state Fire and Rescue Department pulled out the body of a woman from Sg Sarawak at around 1pm, after a car was found to have plunged into the river earlier.

The emergency service bureau said that an emergency alert was made by the public at 10.36am. The incident happened near the Satok bridge in Kuching.

The woman has been identified as Ng Yian Hong, 70, and her body has been handed to the police for investigation.

Authorities said they will investigate how the car ended up in the river.

A video of the rescue operation was made available on Facebook.

It is also unknown for now how the car ended up in the river. – The Vibes, February 24, 2021
