KUALA LUMPUR – The decision to support Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin allows easier access to ministers and government agency leaders, to bring up issues plaguing Malaysians, said PKR’s Steven Choong.

In a Facebook post hours after Muhyiddin announced the Tebrau MP’s backing for the ruling Perikatan Nasional, Choong said people are still faced with a number of issues, including floods, illegal dumping, illegal moneylenders, scam syndicates, low-cost housing, river pollution and foreign workers, as well as problems related to small and medium enterprises.

“I hope that with my 40 years of experience as an accountant, internal and external auditor, tax agent and business consultant, I’m able to work with all ministers and government agencies to find solutions to the mentioned issues.

“I’m willing to help the government, especially if it is in my area of expertise. If called upon, I’m willing to work with the Finance Ministry to find solutions and plan a taxation system that will increase revenue, while not burdening the business community and the people.”

He said he hopes to be a bridge between the government and business community, and bring up issues to Putrajaya.
