KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has tested positive for Covid-19, his public relations secretary Effendi Mohamed Sunoh confirmed in a statement earlier.

Speculation on Hajiji's health was sparked after a message shared in a top government official’s WhatsApp group appeared to suggest the chief minister and his wife may have been admitted to a health facility.

"(Datuk Seri) Hajiji has been in self-quarantine after being exposed to a person who was Covid-19 positive.

"Subsequent test returned positive and he is now receiving treatment at  Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH)," he said.

Effendi said Hajiji will continue to work at the place of treatment, through phone calls and video conferences. – The Vibes, October 10, 2020
