KUALA LUMPUR – A fire broke out on the 12th floor of a block at the Bukit OUG Condominiums complex in Bukit Jalil here tonight.
Videos of the incident posted online showed parts of the roof collapsing, with the burning debris falling onto an awning below.
A witness who recorded the fire said it occurred at Block 9 of the complex.
The Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said its Kuala Lumpur operations centre received a call on the blaze at 9.14pm.
Fire engines and 45 personnel were deployed from the Bukit Jalil, Hang Tuah, Sri Petaling and Seputeh stations.
Earlier this evening, a top floor unit of what is believed to be Block 9 of the Bukit OUG Condominium caught on fire. Parts of the roof top collapsed with inflamed debris crashing to what seems to be an awning near the ground floor.
