KOTA KINABALU - A 53-year-old man who fled from treatment after testing positive for Covid-19 earlier today has been found, police confirmed.

Kota Kinabalu district police chief Habibi Majinji told The Vibes the man who was supposed to be taken to a hospital for treatment was found at his home at Taman Puterajaya in Telipok.

“We have located him, and he is at home. We have informed health authorities to pick him up,” said Habibi, adding that the man was located several hours later.

The man was earlier asked to wait at the Kota Kinabalu National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) before being taken to a hospital.

He had undergone a swab test yesterday and was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive. The Telipok health clinic had tried to contact the man but he did not respond.

The case has been classified under Section 270 of the Penal Code and Section 22 (b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988. - The Vibes, October 10, 2020.
