KUALA LUMPUR – The imposition of a full-scale lockdown will be discussed at tomorrow’s National Security Council (NSC) meeting, said Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

“That is one of the steps or options that need to be considered by NSC. Previously, we implemented the MCO, CMCO, RMCO and so on,” the law minister was quoted by Malaysiakini as telling a press conference after a meeting of the Kelantan Special Security Committee chaired by Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob in Kota Baru today.

Takiyuddin was referring to iterations of the movement control order (MCO), namely the conditional MCO and recovery MCO.

“It will probably be discussed and decided during the NSC meeting with the prime minister, and all the menteris besar and chief ministers.”

His comments followed rife speculation of a lockdown for states with high Covid-19 caseloads.
