MIRI – Three members of a family at a housing estate in Miri have died, two of them confirmed to be due to Covid-19.

Miri divisional Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Lee Kim Shin has confirmed the latest three deaths.

“The three who died are living in a house of extended families. Two are confirmed to have died due to Covid-19 complications.

“Two died at Miri Hospital. The other was (dead on arrival) and could not be saved.

“The Health Department is still probing details of the deaths,” Lee told reporters.

Despite claims that the three died on May 21 in the same house, including that another died at the hospital, Lee said the public must not listen to rumours.

He urged the public to get official news from health authorities.

Do not spread rumours that create panic, he said.
