KUALA LUMPUR – All office-bearers in the PKR central leadership council and branch committees for the 2018-2021 term will keep their posts until the next party elections, said secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

He said this is one of the two motions approved at the party’s national congress, held online, today.

The other motion is for the party polls scheduled for November to be postponed to a date that will be set by the council, no later than May 2023.

Saifuddin Nasution said Article 47.1 of the party constitution stipulates that the council can postpone elections by up to 18 months.

“Hence, the council, on February 28, decided to postpone the 2021 elections to a date to be decided later.”

He said the term of office is three years, starting in November 2018.

The two motions were passed unanimously by delegates.
