GEORGE TOWN – A video clip of a middle-aged man feeding an infant alcohol from a tin can has gone viral on social media.

Non-governmental organisation (NGO) Tamilar Kural Malaysia lodged a report at 1pm today urging the police to take action against the man for his irresponsible act.

Its chairman David Marshel, who is also head of the Anti-Cheap Liquor movement, has lodged a police report at the Prai police station against the man, believed to be from Teluk Bahang here, for feeding the 1-year-old infant alcohol from a can.

“It is an irresponsible act by the man to feed alcohol to the baby as the innocent infant was unable to reject to what was being fed,” he told The Vibes.

Marshall said as a NGO, it is his duty to bring the matter to the attention of the authorities and he urged the police to investigate and take appropriate action against the man in the 30- second video.

He also urged the Women, Family Community Development Ministry to refer the baby to a hospital for a medical check-up and act against the irresponsible man for his act, as well as keep the baby away from the adult by sheltering them at a safe place. – The Vibes, June 22, 2021
