SANDAKAN – A 2-year-old boy was found drowned after he fell from his house in Bai Island here this morning. 

The victim was found 12 hours after a search and rescue operation that started at 6pm yesterday.

Sandakan Zone Maritime director Zainudin Mohd Zuki said the operation was activated after the victim’s family reported that the boy had fallen into the sea from his house.  

“Villagers here found the body of the victim floating about 1 nautical mile north from Bai Island at 6.30am today.

“After being identified by his father, the body was handed over to police for further action.”

Zainudin said the operation involved 27 nautical square miles and was conducted by the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency, the Royal Malaysia Police, the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Force. – The Vibes, July 10, 2021
