KUALA LUMPUR – Eight more localities in Sabah will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) effective from this Friday until August 26.

Senior Foreign Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said these localities included three in Tawau, namely Kg Kongsi 8, Kg Bergosong in Pulau Sebatik, and PPR Taman Sri Apas Batu 8.

The other two are the plantation workers’ quarters in Beluran, namely Perumahan Ladang Reka Halus and Perumahan Ladang Boustead Trunkline.

The other localities placed under the EMCO are Kg Kayu Madang, Telipok in Kota Kinabalu, Kg Batition in Kota Marudu, and Kg Sunsuron in Tambunan.

“The standard operating procedures for all these areas under the EMCO are the same as announced before,” said Hishammuddin in a statement on the National Recovery Plan today.

He said that the EMCO in three Pos Brooke Orang Asli villages in Gua Musang, Kelantan, namely Kg Jedip WCT, Kg Sendrop and Kg Seng Sang, scheduled to end tomorrow would be extended until August 26.

Meanwhile, the EMCO in 14 localities in Sabah will also be extended to the same date. These include Kg Lahat-Lahat, Pulau Sebatik in Tawau, and Ladang Bukit Mas and Ladang Linbar 1 in Kinabatangan.

The EMCO is also extended in Tuaran, involving Kg Betutai, Kg Bolong Baru, Kg Bontoi, Kg Kindu, Kg Lapasan, Kg Serusop, Kg Sungai Damit, Kg Timbok, Kg Simpangan, Taman Sri Rugading, and Taman Telipok Ria.

The EMCO in three Pos Brooke Orang Asli villages in Gua Musang, namely Kg Cekau, Kg Lojing, and Kg Penangau will end tomorrow as scheduled.

The EMCO will also end in two localities in Papar, Sabah, namely Blok Angsana and Blok Sumboi-Sumboi in Kg Seberang Benoni and Kg Pengalat Besar, as well as three localities in Penampang, namely Apartment Taman Suria, Kg Mangkadatan Notoruss, and Taman Penampang Phase 2.

Besides these, two localities in Tawau (Taman Perwira Ranggu and Block 5 Kg Titingan), two in Tenom (Kg Mamaitom and SKIM Kuala Tomani), and two in Putatan (Kg Meruntum Phase 3 and PPR Sri Keramat).

Termination of the EMCO tomorrow also involves Kg Talantang 1 ini Kota Marudu, Kg Ayer in Kudat, and Flat LPPB Sri Taman, Lorong 1-8, Taman Kenari, Taman Mawar and PPR Taman Murni in Sandakan.

It also involves two localities in Pahang, namely Taman Amalina Lestari, Raub and Ladang Bukit Berembun, Mukim Keratong in Rompin, as well as the Kuarters Pekerja Ladang Pelitanah 1 dan 2, Dalat ini Mukah, Sarawak.

Hishammuddin said following checks by the compliance operation task force yesterday, 33 premises in the manufacturing and business sectors were ordered to close immediately, while 173 individuals were compounded and 17 others remanded for flouting the SOPs.

He also stated that yesterday, 718 individuals arrived at the country’s entry points, while so far, 10,329 individuals who arrived from abroad were undergoing compulsory quarantine at 83 hotels, 11 public training institutions, and private learning institutions across the country. – Bernama, August 11, 2021
