KUALA LUMPUR – Police nabbed six local men and seized methamphetamine worth RM1.1 million from a delivery company in Pudu on August 15.
Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Crime Investigation Department chief Sahar Abd Latif said all suspects aged between 18 and 31 were arrested in an apartment in Pandan Perdana.
They then led police to the company’s premises.
“In the raid, police found 30 plastic packets containing 30.98kg of methamphetamine worth RM1,115,280 hidden in a box containing a kitchen hood at the premises,” he said.
Police also seized two cars – a Honda Accord and a Perodua MyVi – worth RM60,000.
“Five of the six suspects have records related to criminal and drug offences, while urine tests showed two of the six suspects were positive for ketamine,” he added.
All suspects are remanded for five days and will be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act, 1952 which carries the death penalty upon conviction. – The Vibes, August 20, 2021
