KUALA LUMPUR – The main gates of Istana Negara have been opened ahead of a Conference of Rulers meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong scheduled for 2.30pm today.

The royal meeting will focus on the pick for the next prime minister, following the resignation of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday.

4.44pm: All the state rulers who attended the meet have left.

4.25pm: Negri Sembilan’s Tuanku Muhriz exits the palace.

4.22pm: Sultan Mizan of Terengganu leaves, followed by Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin.

2.36pm: Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir is the last to enter the palace compound. The gates have now been closed.

The Kelantan, Johor and Perlis rulers are not attending the meet in person.

2.26pm: Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah arrives at Istana Negara, followed by Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah of Perak.

2.14pm: Next to arrive is the Kedah ruler, Sultan Al-Aminul Karim Sallehuddin.

About 10 minutes later, Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah enters the palace gates.

1.57pm: Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin is the first to arrive at the palace amid heavy rain. – The Vibes, August 20, 2021
