KUALA LUMPUR – The Klang Valley is ready to move into Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) after the vaccination rate exceeded 80%, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

However, he said this would be confirmed in a special committee meeting on Covid-19 with his cabinet that he will chair soon.

“Once again, I am so proud of everyone involved and this remarkable achievement,” he said in a post on his Facebook today.

Yesterday, Ismail Sabri said the complete vaccination rate for the adult population in the Klang Valley had reached 89.5%.

This comes after a million doses have been administered at the World Trade Centre here as of yesterday.

Ismail Sabri shared this on Facebook, thanking the public and health frontliners.

“Alhamdulillah, this is due to the collective cooperation and contribution from all to help achieve herd immunity in our country.

“We need to continue this and focus on states that haven’t vaccinated 50% of its adult population. Thank you frontliners and volunteers for the awesome momentum! Keep it up.” – The Vibes, August 30, 2021
