KUALA LUMPUR – Bersatu has appointed Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Edmund Santhara Ramanaidu as chief of its alliance wing.

Secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin in a statement today expressed confidence that Santhara’s appointment will lead to an increase in membership and national support for the party.

“The Bersatu supreme council congratulates Santhara on his appointment. This should see the participation of more allied members and increased support for Bersatu by all Malaysians.”

He said the supreme council has fixed December 18 and 19 for the party’s annual general meeting.

Conferences at the division level will be held from November 12 to 14, while those at the branch level will go on from October 9 to 30.

“These conferences will be conducted physically, virtually or in hybrid form, depending on the SOPs set by the authorities,” said Hamzah.

The party also congratulated president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on his appointment as National Recovery Council (NRC) chairman, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the presentation of the 12th Malaysia Plan in Parliament three days ago.

“Bersatu congratulates Muhyiddin on his appointment as NRC chairman.

“The party is confident that his appointment will aid the government in planning and implementing initiatives that will help the country combat the Covid-19 pandemic.” – The Vibes, September 30, 2021
