KUALA LUMPUR – Ahead of the resumption of in-person classes in public schools, the Health Ministry has added a “School Search” feature to the CovidNow data website.
In a tweet, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the feature is part of the government’s efforts to empower Malaysians with vaccination coverage information.
“Transitioning to endemicity requires transparency, to empower all of society. Today, MoE and MoH launched a ‘School Search’ feature on CovidNow. You can get (information on) vaccination coverage of your child’s school, not just for students, but for staff as well.

For example, when we input St John into the search bar and pick Kuala Lumpur, two schools are listed – SK St John 1 and St John’s Institution (SJI).
If you choose the secondary school, you will be able to get information, such as vaccination rates of students and staff.
In this example, the feature shows that 99% of SJI’s staff has received at least one dose of the vaccine and 99% are fully vaccinated. As for students born in 2009 or earlier, 93.1% have been given at least one jab while 11.8% are fully jabbed.
The feature also displays student vaccination rates by their birth year. For example, 78.7% of those born in 2003 or earlier have been fully vaccinated.
The school information includes a location map to ensure accuracy.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to make an announcement on the lifting of travel restrictions at 3pm as Malaysia nears a 90% rate of fully vaccinated adults. – The Vibes, October 10, 2021
