SEPANG – Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun has called out certain parties to prioritise the lives and well-being of flood victims, as opposed to the high heels she wore during her visit to a flood shelter recently.
Addressing the issue that had sparked commentary among netizens, Rina said she had only thought about the well-being of victims when she first received information regarding the floods during Bersatu’s general assembly.
Dafi, I have found ur wife candidate. It's Rina Harun, she's funny nuff. Wearing heels while visiting flood area., she's same as Ismail Sabri, giving mini love while visiting flood victim at PPS, too funny. Baik punyaaa! #RakyatJagaRakyat #KerajaanGagal #Banjir2021 pic.twitter.com/KmOlrrWfNY

Utusan Malaysia reported the Titiwangsa MP as saying the thought of changing her heels did not arise at that moment, after having changed her clothes.
“On that day (December 19), it happened to be Bersatu’s general assembly, and as the Srikandi (Bersatu women’s wing) chief, I had attended the event.
“My assembly leader received numerous messages on areas being flooded. My mind was uneasy and I was unable to settle down upon hearing it.
“Therefore, I asked permission from the party president to excuse myself after delivering my speech, to go and visit flood victims,” she was quoted as saying after visiting flood victims at the SK Kota Warisan temporary relief centre here today.
Rina said netizens should judge the fact that she was on the ground immediately to render aid to flood victims, instead of her footwear.
“I didn’t expect my footwear to be more important than me being there. I am sorry that I ran from the assembly just to be there, and had only changed my shirt and dress.
“I promise to improve (on) my weaknesses,” she added. – The Vibes, December 23, 2021
