PH must revitalise human resources, management to stand out - PKR deputy secgen

What lacks in PH is the optimal function as a machinery for operational and resource management when put next to BN-PN, said Aidi - November 1, 2026

A BRAND may not gain strong recognition or guaranteed success just because people advocate for and support it.

Aidi Amin Yazid, the PKR deputy secretary-general, said a series of by-elections provided ample findings to rework alliances within those in the corridors of power.

“What appears to be strange bedfellows in Malaysian politics, cooperation at the federal level is not a hindrance for Barisan Nasional to form an ‘akad’ with Perikatan Nasional at the state level.

“The Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with 13 opposition Members of Parliament has also been added into the mix of the latest political flavour of the day for the Madani government,”.

However, he said a fundamental difference between BN-PN is that the CSA was done to channel allocations for opposition MPs rather than cementing a political pact between Bersatu and PH.

“Malaysians can always read between the lines. It was surprising and unfortunate that PN was not graciously rewarded in Johor, and the impasse in Negeri Sembilan has further delayed gratification,” he said in a statement.

PAS supporters, however, are known for upholding strong Islamic values of being ‘sabar’ (patience) as a strong suit.

The Melaka state election marks an opportunity to test and observe existing and future working relationships, as seen in certain seats clashing or conveniently 'handed over' in straight two-corner fights.

“Perhaps the old playbook of splitting votes, married with war room sentiment analysis through dubious respondents, would either lead to misguided key decisions or another brilliant yet political move at the expense of ridiculing principles.

“During such an early stage of campaigning, suffice to say that many are happy with the current Melaka state government under the current Chief Minister; also, any compassionate citizen almost has nothing negative to say about PMX's ways in solving legacy issues.

“What lacks in PH is the optimal function as a machinery for operational and resource management when put next to BN-PN,” he stressed.

PH may be remembered as a brand that rejuvenated the blueprint for nation-building, but, added Aidi, revitalising human resources and management is needed to make its brand advocacy stand out again for GE16. – November 1, 2026
