KUALA LUMPUR – Budget 2021 has allocated RM4.6 billion for the purpose of empowering Bumiputra entrepreneurs. .
Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the breakdown of the RM4.6 billion is as follows:
- RM510 million for Bumiputera small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro SMEs through Tekun and Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB);
- RM800 million for capacity building through Malaysia Development Bank and SME Bank;
- RM2 billion allocated to help finance Bumiputra SMEs through the business financing guarantee company;
- RM1.3 billion for capacity building programmes, including professional development, Bumiputra prosperity fund and programmes, and Bumiputra projects.
Besides that, he said up to RM95 million of micro credit financing have been allocated through Tekun, Mara and Agrobank for the purpose of empowering women entrepreneurs.
“RM50 million is set aside for Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia to support Islamic financing activities through Ar-Rahnu BizNita,” he said at the tabling of Budget 2021 today.
There will also be guidance programmes for packaging and labeling, marketing strategies as well as business technical guidance programmes will be provided to more than 2,000 women entrepreneurs through the micro business development programme or BizMe. – The Vibes, November 6, 2020
