GEORGE TOWN – DAP’s Jelutong MP and lawyer RSN Rayer has confirmed that his party member and Pasir Bedamar assemblyman Terence Naidu has been arrested on an alleged narcotic charge.

“Naidu has since been released after being arrested yesterday for testing positive for banned substances.”

Naidu is a two-term Perak representative.

Earlier, it was reported that a Perak assemblyman was nabbed during a raid at a nightclub in Prai.

It was later believed that he was found positive for drugs when he was taken to the Bukit Mertajam district police headquarters in Bandar Perda.

The lawmaker was understood to have been arrested with 30 more customers who were at the pub when police led by a team from Bukit Aman raided the outlet last night.

Police took the alleged suspects to the magistrates’ court here in the afternoon to obtain a remand order to facilitate investigations.

It is learned that the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. – The Vibes, January 14, 2022
