SHAH ALAM – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has distributed emergency aid and will channel death benefit to the husband of a woman who was allegedly beheaded by her son in Kg Baru Pasir Penambang in Kuala Selangor on Saturday.

LZS, in a post on its Facebook account, said it hopes to ease some of the burdens on the victim’s husband and family through such assistance.

“This couple is one of our asnaf recipients in Kuala Selangor. We still remember their cheerfulness at the zakat presentation last year,” read the statement.

Yesterday, the media reported that Selangor police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed that the 28-year-old unemployed man suspected to have decapitated his mother was under the influence of drugs.

LZS in the same post also said that drug prevention education and rehabilitation programmes require the participation of all segments of society, and should start from early childhood education.

“We at LZS pray that the husband and family members remain resilient in the face of this great test. May Allah place his wife’s soul among the pious,” it said. – Bernama, January 18, 2022
