KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded a total of 27,299 new Covid-19 cases for February 26, which was down by 3,345 cases from the 30,644 cases logged on February 25, 2022.

There are also 298,977 total active cases, with 256 imported cases and 372 total clusters as well as 43 new deaths nationwide.

Selangor recorded the highest number of infections yesterday at 6,740, followed by Sabah with 3,735 cases, Kedah with 2,462, Penang with 2,435, Johor with 1,885, Kuala Lumpur with 1,691, Pahang with 1,636, Negri Sembilan with 1,464, Kelantan with 1,414 and Perak with 1,321.

Meanwhile, other states in the country recorded cases within the hundreds, while nationwide recovery saw 27,299 individuals shaking off the virus.

The Health Ministry also found seven new clusters, with two education clusters designated as Parit Sawah Tangkak 1 Cluster and Persiaran Ilmu Seri Alam 1 Cluster.

The others are known as the Jalan Bertam Kepala Batas 7 Cluster, the Jalan Kampar Perdana 8 Cluster, the Lorong Nipah Lima, 7 Cluster, the Industri Dua Leboh Sultan Cluster and the Jalan Lapan Ampang Cluster. 

Meanwhile, five states have registered more than 50% occupancy of intensive care units. They are Kelantan (94%), Melaka (71%), Johor (67%), Kuala Lumpur (58%) and Putrajaya (50%), with 203 new patients requiring ventilator assistance. – The Vibes, February 27, 2022
