M’sia sees daily Covid-19 cases drop to 27,435 today

KUALA LUMPUR – The country logged 27,435 fresh infections, according to CovidNow data as of midnight, recording a drop of 5,971 cases compared with Saturday.

This also brings the national cumulative total to 3,622,607.

The 55 new reported deaths also brings the toll to 33,228, and of the new fatalities, 16 were classified as brought-in-dead.

The Health Ministry also recorded four fresh clusters comprising two workplace clusters and two education clusters.

The Jalan Keluli Pasir Gudang workplace cluster recorded 26 cases with a positivity rate of 14.8%, while the Batu 4 Kuala Rui education cluster recorded 20 cases with a positivity rate of 48.8%.

Consistently topping daily caseloads is Selangor, now with 7,012 fresh infections.

Coming behind Selangor is Kedah with 2,721 infections, Kuala Lumpur (2,685), Johor (2,348), Pahang (1,844), Penang (1,663), Negri Sembilan (1,565), Sabah (1,515), Kelantan (1,279), Perak (1,262), and Sarawak (1,244). 

Five states that have less than 1,000 cases are Terengganu (918), Melaka (796), Perlis (206), Labuan (206), and Putrajaya (171)

Malaysia has recorded a total of 308,252 active cases, up 19.1% percent compared with 14 days ago. 

Of this number, 397 were in intensive care units, 216 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 30,335 recoveries, bringing the total cumulative to 3,281,128. – The Vibes, March 6, 2022
