KUALA LUMPUR – There is no need to scan MySejahtera or record personal details at stations if one is using credit cards, debit cards, and online platforms to pay for petrol.

However, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said those who are entering store premises must check-in via MySejahtera or record their details.

“This is because they are in contact with other people, so they must scan the MySejahtera app or write down their details, so contact tracing becomes easier,” he said in his daily press briefing today.

He was responding to news that went viral yesterday, which led to a heated debate on compulsory use of MySejahtera when stopping by petrol stations.

He also said those using the surau or toilets at petrol stations must also use the MySejahtera app.

Ismail Sabri said those going to see foremen or mechanics in petrol stations must check in via MySejahtera or have their details recorded.

“Those using manual car wash services at petrol stations must have their details recorded. It’s not needed for those who use auto car wash and make payments through their car windows,” he said.

He said standard operating procedure details for petrol stations can be found at the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry’s website.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri also announced the enhanced movement control order will end for Taman Mawar, Sandakan today.

However, the EMCO for Taman Mesra, Sandakan will be extended to November 24. – The Vibes, November 10, 2020
