KUALA LUMPUR – it is the second consecutive day that Selangor has breached the 10,000 mark in its daily Covid-19 caseload, recording another 11,692 infections compared to 10,240 the day before.

According to data from CovidNow, the country’s fresh cases amounted to 24,316 as of midnight, a slight uptick from the previous day.

This brings the cumulative total to 4,079,242, of which 247,603 are active cases. The Health Ministry added that 6,019 are hospitalised, while 194 are on ventilators and 127 patients are under intensive care.

Meanwhile, another 64 deaths were reported, of which 18 were classified as brought-in-dead. The death toll currently stands at 34,664.

Malaysia also logged four new clusters, three being high-risk groups. Selangor’s Industri Kilometer 15 2 workplace cluster in Kuala Langat and Klang has the most cases with 73 and a positivity rate of 15.9%.

The state also has two high-risk group clusters in Hulu Selangor – Jalan Padang Golf 3 with 68 cases and Jalan Besar Kalong Tengah with 20 infections.

The Lorong Pendita high-risk group cluster in Cheras here has 24 cases with a positivity rate of 82.8%.

Aside from Selangor, five states have four-figure daily caseloads namely Kuala Lumpur (2,425), Penang (1,577), Sarawak (1,400), Perak (1,324) and Kedah (1,252).

This is followed by Johor (986), Negri Sembilan (888), Pahang (631), Melaka (594), Kelantan (436), Sabah (436), Terengganu (430), Labuan (71), Perlis (90) and (84). – The Vibes, March 25, 2022
