MIRI – A 13-year-old boy drowned in a lake near a sand mining site in Sarikei after going for a swim with a group of friends.

Terry Leon Zi Jun’s body was found floating at 1am today near SJK Tiong Ho.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement that the boy was reported missing in the lake at around 10.30pm.

“He went to swim with a group of friends and ended up missing in the water.

“The search-and-rescue operation last night failed to find the boy, but his body was later found floating by family members at the site. Police have been informed of the case.” – The Vibes, June 27, 2022
