BALING – A continuous three-hour downpour flooded Kg Iboi and Kg Tg Luas in Mukim Kupang here, earlier this afternoon.

Baling District Civil Defence Officer Rasidah Kassim said that the heavy rain, which began at around 2pm today, led to the waters of Sg Kupang overflowing to the local residential areas by the riverside.

“Malaysia Civil Defence (APM) received the report about the flash flood at around 6pm today, and APM personnel in Baling went to the location.

“APM members found that a few houses were flooded. However, no evacuation centres have been opened, and there are no casualties reported,” she said in a statement, today.

So far, her agency is updating the information regarding the disaster, including the numbers of victims involved and the numbers of houses damaged. – Bernama, July 4, 2022
