MIRI – State opposition party Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has called for See Chee How to vacate his Batu Lintang state seat following his resignation from the party.

PSB president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh said the three-term assemblyman had already signed an agreement with the party that he will resign from his post should he quit their political outfit.

“We in PSB expect See to resign as Batu Lintang state assemblyman with immediate effect.

“He won Batu Lintang during the state election last December under PSB’s candidacy.

“When the party nominated him as a candidate for Batu Lintang, he agreed to sign an agreement with PSB that if he won, he would serve as assemblyman only if he remained with PSB.

“If he quits PSB during his term as assemblyman, he must also quit as assemblyman for Batu Lintang.

“That agreement by See with PSB was in written and oral form too.

“The party has officially received See’s letter saying he quit from PSB,” Wong said in a press statement, today.

See is a third-term assemblyman who won his seat while he was in Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Two years ago, he quit PKR and joined PSB. Subsequently, he contested the state election last December under the party’s ticket.

Having been nominated by PSB to defend Batu Lintang, See won the five-cornered fight, defeating candidates from GPS, PKR, Parti Bumi Kenyalang and Parti Aspirasi by a majority of only 93 votes. – The Vibes, August 14, 2022.
