KOTA KINABALU – Sabah’s parliamentary seats are expected to see more candidates entering the fray as Bebas Alliance, a group formed by locals, will be contesting in all 25 seats and Labuan.
Its coordinator Datuk Hiew King Chew, former Kota Kinabalu MP and Luyang assemblyman, said the list of pre-qualified candidates is ready and will be announced before or on nomination day on November 5.
He said Bebas Alliance consists of a group of passionate Sabahans who want to serve wholeheartedly and uphold justice in the state, ensuring that the next government is a caring government for Sabah.
“We are volunteers who are willing to take up the challenge to stand up against many political parties; in other words, we are merely ‘seeking a job’ from the people, and our only boss is the people,” he said in a statement today.
Hiew said the independent candidates will be government-friendly and will act as “managers”, creating understanding, making arrangements as well as collaborating with the government without losing the benefits for the people.
“There will be no power struggle, power grab, and ganging up. It will be a new clean choice for the voters and we are not controlled or monitored by any political parties.
“Our only boss is the people, the decisions come from the people and we will merely execute (policies).” – The Vibes, October 30, 2022
