KUALA LUMPUR – Recipients of the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) financial aid will receive their monetary assistance sometime next week, said caretaker prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said that the funds will be credited into recipients’ bank accounts beginning November 15, with the process expected to be completed by November 18.

“The decision to bring the BKM aid payment forward from December is to allow citizens to prepare themselves for the monsoon season, which is predicted to begin sometime this month,” Ismail Sabri said in a statement today.

He added that the fourth phase of the financial initiative worth RM2.1 billion will benefit 5.2 million recipients.

This includes those who qualify based on household capacity as well as single senior citizens.

“Overall, RM8 billion has been allocated for BKM and is set to aid 8.7 million recipients this year.”

Receivers of the funds can check the status of their aid online by visiting bkm.hasil.gov.my beginning November 15. – The Vibes, November 10, 2022
