KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate R. S. N. Rayer has been stopped by Immigration authorities at the Kuching airport and was denied entry into Sarawak.

The incumbent DAP MP for Jelutong was scheduled to speak at a ceramah at the party’s Batu Kawa service centre in Kuching at 7pm today.

Rayen said Immigration officials had denied him entry upon arriving in Kuching at 5pm today, and gave no reason behind their decision.

The vociferous lawmaker is scheduled to fly back here, at 9pm.

Both East Malaysian territories, Sabah and Sarawak have autonomy over immigration matters, having banned numerous politicians and individuals in the past from entering the state.

Noticeably, those who have been barred from entering Sarawak over the years include DAP’s Tony Pua, Teresa Kok as well as PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar, Rafizi Ramli, Tian Chua and R. Sivarasa. – The Vibes, November 16, 2022
