Temporary closure of Ipoh Utara-Ipoh Selatan lanes on NSE tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR – The Ipoh Utara-Ipoh Selatan southbound stretch on the North-South Expressway (NSE) will be closed tomorrow between 10am and 2.30pm for a highway emergency response exercise. 

During the closure, affected highway users from the north and Kuala Kangsar will be diverted to the Ipoh Utara toll plaza and are advised to use the FT240 Jelapang-Ampang slip road. 

Highway users heading south are advised to re-enter the NSE through the Ipoh Selatan toll plaza, said highway concessionaire PLUS Malaysia Bhd in a statement today.

They are also advised to adhere to all traffic signage and instructions given by PLUS personnel during the exercise.

PLUS chief operating officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said emergency response exercises are conducted periodically to evaluate the level of preparedness of PLUS personnel and other agencies.

This exercise will involve the Malaysian Highway Authority, police, Road Transport Department, Fire and Rescue Department, Environment Department, Civil Defence Force, MERS 999, National Security Council, Health Ministry, Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research, Edgenta Infrastructure Services and others. – The Vibes, November 29, 2022
