PUTRAJAYA – Several areas in Sepang and Putrajaya were hit by flash floods following continuous rain since around 2pm today.

A resident in Dengkil K. Ramadass, when contacted by Bernama, said the areas affected include SK Dengkil, SMK Dengkil and Kg Ampar Tenang.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said in Dengkil, the floodwater was receding in some areas, such as Taman Delima Jaya and Taman Delima, as the rain began to stop.

Meanwhile, Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Afizi Zolkifli said the department had mobilised personnel to conduct patrol in several areas reported to be hit by flash floods.

“Apart from that, we always monitor the situation through CCTVs, and I believe the Putrajaya Corporation task force is also monitoring the situation,” he said.

Putrajaya district police chief A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said police received a report on a flash flood incident at the Precinct 5 tunnel, but the problem was solved by the swift action of the task force and Fire and Rescue Department.

“We also received reports on flash floods in several other locations, but the water has subsided. The public can refer to the department and Putrajaya Corporation Facebook page for updates,” he said. – Bernama, November 29, 2022
