PETALING JAYA – PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has sought an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah following the opposition leader's announcement this afternoon that he has the numbers to form a new government.

This follows His Majesty being warded for treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) since yesterday afternoon.

Saifuddin said a letter requesting for the audience has been sent.

"We must respect that the Agong (even if he) has just come out of the hospital, we must also follow protocol," he told The Vibes.

At a press conference earlier today Anwar who is parliamentary opposition leader insisted that the current administration of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who heads the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition, "has collapsed".

Anwar claimed that Pakatan Harapan enjoys the support of close to two-thirds of MPs, but refused to divulge exact numbers. He explained that this would only be done after he gains an audience with the Agong. - The Vibes September 23, 2020
