KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil seems to share a similar “dream” with newly sacked Tan Sri Annuar Musa, alluding to “embers at home”.

He said that he too had a dream last night, and also mentioned embers and those who seek to “burn” down the place.

“The embers threatened to burn down our home, leaving us homeless and forced to seek shelter at someone else’s home.

“Someone else started the fire and has been wanting to burn down our home and chase us out.

“Before it burns up, we have to put out the fire. Only then will we be safe and happy,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He also tried to console Annuar, saying that this was God’s will.

“Maybe Tan Sri (Annuar) dreamt of being a minister again, but it did not happen. It is okay. Accept God’s plans, He might have His reasons.

“Winning is important, but how we win is more important.”

Earlier, Annuar posted on Facebook what appears to be a metaphor for his removal, claiming to have a dream last night of the house he inherited and lived in being on fire.

Annuar, who has served in Umno for decades, said while many other residents of the burning property fled to save themselves, he attempted to put out the fire because he loved the house and wanted to ensure the remaining occupants would be safe.

In the veiled post, he also put the word “house” inside quote marks, possibly alluding to Umno.

“While the fire was raging and scores of the residents continued to leave the house, I was suddenly pulled out from the fire.

“Now, I can only watch the fire from afar,” he said.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan earlier today confirmed that Annuar, Arau Wanita Umno division head Datuk Seri Shamsiah Yasin, and her Maran counterpart Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim were sacked from the party.

Annuar, the former Ketereh Umno chief, has been a vocal critic of the party leadership in the past couple of years over its decision not to work with Bersatu-led Perikatan Nasional.

Later, he was dropped from contesting in the 15th general election, the first time he has not competed in polls since making his electoral debut in 1986.

After Barisan Nasional’s (BN) decision to form a unity government led by Pakatan Harapan, Annuar had conducted a press conference where he went on the assault against Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Among other things, Annuar had said that BN’s poor performance in the election was proof that the rakyat have rejected Zahid, and urged the latter to resign from his presidency. – The Vibes, December 9, 2022
