KUALA LUMPUR – Rescuers are now determined to find the remaining three missing landslide victims, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Hafisham Mohd Noor.
He said this after the search-and-rescue team had found four more bodies earlier today, all wrapped in a tent, 7m deep in Sector C of the incident site in Father’s Organic Farm, Batang Kali.
“Search-and-rescue efforts are now focused on Sectors A and C for the remaining three victims,” said Hafisham in a press conference today at the operation’s command centre in Batang Kali.
The first body today was recovered at 10.30am and the rest at 10.43am. They were one man, one woman, a boy and a girl.
Meanwhile, Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah said the bodies were found intact and have been sent to Sg Buloh Hospital for identification and post-mortem autopsy.
When asked whether the victims were from the same family, Suffian said he does not wish to speculate as the identification process has yet to be completed.
“I can’t say at the moment but that is why we have sent the bodies to Sg Buloh for further identification.”
He said the police have received three missing person reports so far.
This morning’s discovery brings the total number of bodies found at the site to 30. – The Vibes, December 22, 2022
