[UPDATED] Covid-19: 1,075 new cases, 11 deaths

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 1,075 new Covid-19 cases today, with three quarters of the overall infections coming from Selangor and Sabah, the two states with the highest overall cumulative numbers. 
 
According to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, only three cases today were imported. 
 
There were also 11 new deaths in the 24 hours leading up to noon today, bringing total fatalities to 376. 

It was also the country's second highest daily number of deaths since the pandemic began, when 12 fatalities were recorded exactly a month ago.
 
In a statement, Noor Hisham said Selangor saw 459 new infections, while Sabah recorded 310 cases. 
 
This is followed by Johor (78), Negri Sembilan (52), Kuala Lumpur (49), Penang (43), Kedah (32), Perak (26), Labuan (9), Kelantan (9), Pahang (4), Melaka (2), and one each in Sarawak and Terengganu. 
 
“This brings the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 69,095,” he said, of which 29,577 and 15,534 were from Sabah and Selangor respectively. 
 
With 948 new recoveries bringing the total of discharged patients to 57,917, Noor Hisham said active cases in the country currently stands at 10,802. 
 
The Health Director-General said 116 individuals are currently treated at the intensive care unit (ICU), of which 46 required ventilator support. 
 
Noor Hisham said to date, the ministry has identified 373 clusters nationwide, 189 of those have ended, while four are new clusters. 
 
The new clusters are Monsoon in Petaling, Selangor with 19 positive cases so far; Jalan Kijang in Lahad Datu, Sabah (24 cases); Perdana Enam in Lahad Datu, Sabah (25 cases); and Jalan Kubota in Tawau, Sabah (14 cases). - The Vibes, December 3, 2020
