KUALA LUMPUR – Putrajaya Umno deputy division chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz is the latest figure to be sacked from the party.
He announced his sacking in a Facebook post, saying he was informed of it yesterday afternoon.
Tun Faisal, who is seen as a close ally of another sacked former Umno leader Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who was axed in December, slammed the move and said the party’s disciplinary board had failed to find him guilty of any offence.
He said all his criticism against party leadership had never been expressed out in the open, and he had given his views directly to Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“The disciplinary board is not transparent and is being manipulated and open to abuse of power,” Tun Faisal said, adding that he had no plans to appeal his sacking because he felt the board and Zahid will not be open to receiving criticism.
Tun Faisal, who had served as a political appointee in various ministries, most notably the former government propaganda unit Special Affairs Department (Jasa), noted how his name was not on the list of those sacked on January 27 after the Umno Supreme Council held a meeting.
That night, the council announced the sacking of former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar, as well as the six-year suspension of Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan. – The Vibes, February 1, 2023
