KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has entered Umno’s headquarters at Menara Dato Onn here this evening 25 years since he last set foot there following his sacking from the party in 1998.

The prime minister was seen entering the building at about 7.40pm without speaking with the media.

There, he will chair a unity government secretariat meeting for the first time, alongside former foe Barisan Nasional (BN) and other allies.

The meeting will be attended by top Umno and BN leaders in the unity government, including party president and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also seen entering were Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu, Transport Minister Anthony Loke, and Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.

Earlier today, Anwar urged civil servants to put aside any differences and cooperate for the sake of the nation.

As an example, he cited his own past thorny relationship with Zahid, showing how one should look beyond history and work towards uplifting the rakyat. – The Vibes, February 7, 2023
