JOHOR BARU – Datin Sri Rahayu Tajuddin, the daughter of former Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, won the race for the Pasir Salak Umno Wanita chief post.

She beat incumbent Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin.

Sinar Harian reports that Rahayu also successfully won a position as an executive councillor for Umno’s national Wanita wing, after receiving 320 votes, the third-highest.

Meanwhile, Noraini Bahari won the Umno Pasir Salak’s vice-chief position, beating Suhaili Suib.

Mohd Yafiz Mustafa and Mohd Farid Hayati won the Umno Pasir Salak Youth chief and vice-chief positions respectively.

The Pasir Salak Puteri Umno wing also saw new faces winning, with Azuwa Sulaiman holding the chief position while Saila Moh Saleh won the vice-chief race.

In Kuala Pilah, Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, wife of former Jempol MP Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul, won the race for the division's women's wing chief.

Bibi defeated her challengers Suzlyana Mahayuddin and June Artisha Mohamad Nazari.

Speaking to Sinar Harian, Bibi admitted to a challenging contest but is committed to serving her party with dedication.

In addition, Bibi said that she will be focused on the upcoming state elections and making necessary improvements to the party’s women’s wing. – The Vibes, March 12, 2023
