KUALA LUMPUR – Wanita Umno leader Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad today said the move by Ketereh Wanita Umno chief Sabariah Hamzah and several other members who left the division will not cripple it as alleged.

She said leaders come and go, but Umno will remain strong and continue its fight for the people and the country.

“Wanita Umno was informed that the Ketereh Wanita Umno chief and several committee members of the division have decided to leave the party.

“Though it is sad to receive such news, their exit from the party will not cripple the division as some alleged.

“Following their announcement to leave the party, the position of the division Wanita chief will be taken over by Marzuani Ardilla Ariffin, who is the deputy Wanita division chief,” she said in a statement.

Yesterday, former Umno secretary-general, Tan Sri Annuar Musa among others, announced that Sabriah and several other Wanita Umno members were leaving Umno and supporting Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Apart from Sabariah, Ketereh Umno Youth chief, Afiq Amani, who is Annuar’s son, also left the party.

Noraini said Wanita Umno thanked those who left for their services to the party all this while. – Bernama, August 5, 2023
