KUALA LUMPUR – Tan Sri Annuar Musa backed a contractor for the central spine road project (CSRP) that cuts across his constituency, according to a support letter signed by the Federal Territories Minister and sighted by The Vibes.

The May 22 letter (below), addressed to the prime minister, was in support of former Tanah Merah MP and Umno member Datuk Shaari Hassan and his company Chengaljati Sdn Bhd for packages 2C and 3A of CSRP from Kota Baru to Kuala Krai in Kelantan.

“This project is done in the parliamentary constituency of Ketereh. Chengaljati is among the contractors that is developing a portion of the highway previously.

“I support this application and hope that YAB Tan Sri will consider and approve this application. Tan Sri’s approval is appreciated and thanks in advance,” Annuar said, referring to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

But the project is conducted through open tender and the company only asked for the minister’s support, a spokesman for Annuar told The Vibes.

CSRP, a toll-free 347km four-lane dual-carriageway that runs from Pahang to Kelantan, is expected to be completed by 2023.

The entire project is estimated to cost RM8.7 billion and currently 19% or 66.93km is complete. – The Vibes, December 7, 2020
