KUALA LUMPUR – Former Perlis menteri besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man is set to be charged tomorrow at the sessions court in Kangar, Perlis for corruption-related offences.

The matter was confirmed by media sources citing an invite by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to cover the case involving “a former menteri besar” in the nation’s smallest state.

He is expected to be charged under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for presenting or certifying a document containing false details.

Azlan, 64, had served as the menteri besar from 2013 to 2022, having been the assemblyman for both Bintong and Puah throughout his tenure in Perlis.

However, during the last general election, Azlan failed to defend his state seat as Barisan Nasional fell to Perikatan Nasional in Perlis at both federal and state levels. – The Vibes, April 9, 2023
