KOTA KINABALU – Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called on the Health Ministry (MoH) to prioritise the East Malaysian state in terms of allocation distribution for the development and upgrading of healthcare facilities.

In a statement today, Hajiji said that Sabah is among states with the most hospitals and health clinics in the country, but most of them are dilapidated and old.

“Sabah really needs a bigger allocation for development in comparison to other states, including (allocation for) construction (of new infrastructure) and upgrading of existing healthcare facilities,” he said.

Hajiji said he had expressed the matter to MoH after its minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa made a courtesy visit to his official residence in Sri Gaya, today.

He was earlier briefed on programmes and development projects involving healthcare facilities that MoH had implemented in Sabah.

Also present were the Health deputy director-general (Public Health), Datuk Dr Norhayati Rusli and Sabah health director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin. – The Vibes, April 9, 2023
