KUALA LUMPUR – All road works and repairs are suspended immediately until May 7 to ease traffic congestion, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

He tweeted this in a response to a complaint by a road user who was unhappy over being stuck for five hours between the Gombak toll and Genting Sempah.

The complainant also tagged Nanta and Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

In a separate event here, Loke said highway repairs are not under the purview of the Transport Ministry but agreed that works should be suspended during festive seasons.

“I’m confident the highway authority and Works Ministry will know how to handle the issue. I do not have the power to issue any stop-work orders,” he told reporters. – The Vibes, April 18, 2023
