LARUT – Talks on seat distribution among Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties for the six state elections due this year are almost completed, with only three or four seats left to be resolved, said its secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

“We have held many meetings. Insya-Allah, only three or four seats need further discussions,” he told reporters at the Larut parliamentary constituency Aidilfitri open house here today.

Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan must hold elections this year, as they did not hold their state polls together with last year’s general election.

Asked on PN’s chances in the coming state polls, Hamzah, who is Larut MP, said the coalition’s performance would depend on the people’s perception.

Hamzah, who is also Bersatu secretary-general, said the party’s 2023 elections would be held after the six state polls. – Bernama, May 7, 2023
