MACHANG – Kelantan PKR has submitted the names of shortlisted candidates for the upcoming state polls to the party leadership, PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said.

Nik Nazmi, who is also Kelantan and Terengganu PKR chairman, said the names will be announced by party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said PH has been allocated 14 seats to contest in Kelantan, but he could not confirm how many of those will be contested by PKR.

Nik Nazmi was speaking to reporters after visiting the Kg Joh-Kg Belimbing road construction project site here today.

Prior to this, Kelantan Umno information chief Datuk Zawawi Othman said Barisan Nasional will field candidates in 31 seats in Kelantan while 14 more will feature candidates from PKR and Amanah, representing PH.

The 45-seat Kelantan legislative assembly was dissolved on June 22 to pave the way for state polls to be held.

Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Terengganu and Kedah will also be facing state elections. – Bernama, July 2, 2023
