JELEBU – The son of former Negri Sembilan menteri besar Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, Mohd Najib Mohd Isa, and Isa’s wife Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid are among names mentioned as potential Barisan Nasional candidates in the coming state elections.

According to a viral list on social media, Najib is apparently going to contest in Bagan Pinang, while Bibi Sharliza is rumoured to be going for the Juasseh seat.

About 50% of those on the list are new faces contesting 17 seats in Negri Sembilan, including Lenggeng, which is now a tussle between Umno and Amanah.

State Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias has since called on all parties to be patient and wait for the official candidate list to be announced by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tonight.

He said any viral list on social media is inaccurate and something that happens during every election.

According to the viral list, Jalauddin, who is also the MP for Jelebu, was named as the candidate for Pertang, while Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who is also the Rembau MP, is said to be defending Rantau. – The Vibes, July 21, 2023
